Today our staff and Youth Council participated in Inclusion Training with Kyla Crocker from REACH. We learned more about each other, what inclusion really means, some of the barriers to inclusion, and what it’s like to walk in the shoes of someone who is differently abled.
We discussed biases, innovative solutions, and ways of working through potentially challenging situations. Our facilitators were incredible, and we all learned a lot while having a great time!
At Impact we strive to maintain an environment where every child feels safe, welcomed, and valued. It’s important for all of us to know we belong somewhere. By learning about the challenges and needs of others, we are afforded an incredible opportunity to be change-makers, advocates, and leaders.
Huge thanks for Kyla and her team for making today such an awesome experience!
